Head Vibrator Helmet

Worn like a WWII pilot helmet, this vibrating device targeted your scalp and temples, supposedly “stimulating brain function and metabolism.” Used in the 1930s, it was a cross between a hair dryer and an earthquake. Users sat silently while their skulls rattled.

Doctors quickly realized it caused more dizziness than enlightenment. Long-term users complained of headaches and blurred vision. While vibration therapy has its place today, this particular version was just a helmet of head trauma with a plug.
