Stomach Suction Machine
This bizarre device from the 1960s literally tried to vacuum the fat off your stomach. Users lay down while a padded dome was placed over their midsection. The machine then created suction—like a giant Hoover—intended to “mobilize fat stores” through vibration and negative pressure.
Not only was it ineffective, it was downright dangerous. The suction often caused bruising and even internal discomfort. And despite the loud humming and unsettling sensation, people lined up for this experience, hoping to get flat abs without diet or exercise. Spoiler alert: it didn’t work, and your stomach just felt abused.
