#11: Clarks (1994)

In 1995, following the success of Kevin Smith’s indie film Clerks, ABC produced an unaired pilot for a sitcom adaptation. The pilot featured Andrew Lowery as Dante Hicks and Jim Breuer as Randal Graves, with neither Smith nor the original cast involved.

The adaptation omitted the film’s edgy humor and adult themes, opting for a more conventional sitcom approach. Notably, the character Jay was renamed Ray, as Smith retained rights to Jay and Silent Bob. The pilot was poorly received and never broadcast, but it has since surfaced online.
