#15: Ferris Bueller (1990)
In 1990, NBC adapted ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” into a sitcom, ‘Ferris Bueller”, but it lacked the film’s magic. Charlie Schlatter took over as Ferris, while Jennifer Aniston played his sister, Jeannie. The show even mocked the original by having Schlatter break the fourth wall and claim Matthew Broderick’s Ferris was an imposter.
Despite attempts to recapture the charm, the show felt forced and unoriginal. Critics and audiences rejected it, leading to cancellation after just 13 episodes. Now, it’s mostly remembered as an early role in Aniston’s career.
