#21: Murphy’s Law (1988-1989)

“Murphy’s Law” was a crime drama series that aired on ABC from November 2, 1988, to March 18, 1989. The show starred George Segal as Daedalus Patrick Murphy, a recovering alcoholic and insurance fraud investigator.
Despite Segal’s involvement, the series faced harsh criticism. Newsday described it as “monumentally meaningless and absurdly trivial,” questioning the very purpose of television itself. Due to such negative reviews and low ratings, “Murphy’s Law” was canceled after just 13 episodes, with one remaining unaired.
