#20: Dirty Dancing (1988)

In 1988, CBS introduced a television adaptation of the hit film “Dirty Dancing,” casting Patrick Cassidy as Johnny Castle and Melora Hardin as Frances “Baby” Kellerman. The series aimed to capture the original’s charm but struggled due to the absence of the original cast and crew.
Critics were unimpressed; the Los Angeles Times remarked that it “plays like an extended shampoo commercial and lacks the edge and joyful vigor of the movie on which it is based.” Consequently, the show was canceled after just 11 episodes.
