#23: Manimal (1983)
“Manimal” was a 1983 TV series about Dr. Jonathan Chase, a wealthy British professor who could transform into animals to help solve crimes. Played by Simon MacCorkindale, Chase used his unique ability to assist law enforcement, often shifting into a panther or hawk.
Despite its ambitious premise and special effects, critics found the show lacking, and it was canceled after just eight episodes. The Ultimate Encyclopedia of Fantasy remarked that it was surprising the series lasted beyond its pilot.
