#26: Hogan’s Heroes (1965-1971)

“Hogan’s Heroes,” a sitcom set in a German POW camp during World War II, aired from 1965 to 1971. Despite initial controversy over its premise, the show succeeded significantly, running for six seasons and receiving 12 Primetime Emmy nominations.

Notably, Werner Klemperer won two Emmys for his portrayal of Colonel Klink. The tagline “If you liked World War II, you’d love ‘Hogan’s Heroes!’” originated from a sarcastic remark by comedian Stan Freberg during a 1965 interview with Bob Crane.
