Comfort Wipe

Billed as “the sanitary paper extension arm,” the Comfort Wipe is a 15-inch plastic wand tipped with a soft grip to hold toilet paper, designed for those with limited mobility who struggle to reach. A sincerely useful concept—yet its infomercial went viral for all the wrong reasons, featuring a man declaring, “Finally! I can maintain my dignity!”

Unfortunately, many users reported the release button malfunctioned, forcing awkward grapples with used tissue. The bulky wand also required discreet storage—imagine dropping that in a shared bathroom. Occupational-therapy tools exist for genuine need, but the Comfort Wipe’s clunky design and comedic marketing relegated it to gag-gift status rather than a respected aid.
