Confiding in a Friend
Unable to bear the weight of uncertainty alone, the father reached out to a trusted family friend who was also a pediatrician. They met in a quiet corner of a local café, where the father finally voiced his concerns aloud.
He spoke of the differences in the baby, the absence of the birthmark, and his son’s intense reaction. “It probably sounds ridiculous,” he admitted, his voice low. But the doctor listened with care and didn’t dismiss his words. “Sometimes a parent’s instinct is the first sign something’s wrong,” he said kindly.
