Quepos Bridge (Costa Rica)

The Quepos Bridge in Costa Rica is known locally as the “Bridge of Death” or the “Oh My God Bridge.” Located on the Pacific coast connecting Jacó and Quepos, this bridge was originally built for banana transport. However, it has since deteriorated, and vehicles rattle and shake every time they cross. Having not been repaired since its construction in the 1930s, the bridge’s condition is extremely hazardous.

The entire bridge is becoming fragile, and each passing of a large vehicle causes further damage. Furthermore, the narrow width makes it impossible for cars to pass each other, and the wooden planks are not nailed down, making a safe crossing difficult.
