Defending the door
Things escalated when Max started growling at the front door, even when no one was there. One evening, while Emily chopped vegetables for dinner, Max sprang up and took position in front of the door, growling low and steady.
John rushed over to check but saw nothing out of place. “What is it now?” he muttered, rubbing his forehead. The tension was growing heavier.
Max wasn’t just behaving oddly—he was acting like there was real danger nearby.
