Hospital Setback
After coming home from the hospital, Emily’s health began to deteriorate. “Something’s wrong,” she admitted, collapsing onto the couch.
Her complexion was pale, and her hands shook visibly. John felt dread crawl through him. “We need to take you back,” he said, his voice tight with worry.
Max curled beside her, watching intently. The tension in the house grew heavier, each day more daunting than the last.
