The feeling of being watched

Recently, Emily had begun to feel an eerie sense of being watched. As she moved through the house, the sensation followed her like a shadow.

Every little sound or movement made her pulse quicken. “Do you ever feel that?” she asked John one evening.

“Feel what?” he responded, puzzled.

“Like someone’s watching us,” she whispered. John’s brow furrowed. “It’s probably just nerves,” he said, trying to be reassuring. But inside, her unease added to his growing fear.
