Nightmares take hold

Emily began to suffer from disturbing, hyper-realistic nightmares of a dark, oppressive figure. She often woke up gasping, drenched in sweat.

“I keep dreaming about these shadows,” she told John over breakfast, her hands trembling around her mug. “They feel real—too real.”

John reached out and held her hand. “It’s probably just stress,” he said gently. But he couldn’t ignore the haunted look in her eyes—whatever she was experiencing, it was affecting her deeply.
