Even after Max’s disturbing behavior, John combed through the security footage and found nothing out of the ordinary. “It’s all clear,” he told Emily, showing her the recordings.
They spent hours watching the clips, hoping to catch something out of place, but saw nothing alarming. “Maybe he just heard a rat or something,” John suggested, trying to offer a rational explanation.
Still, despite the lack of evidence, Max remained restless, his agitation keeping them both on edge.
