Fear of being watched
John began to fear the worst: that someone might be watching them. He checked every camera in their home security system, combing through hours of footage.
Nothing seemed out of place—no strangers, no movement, nothing to explain Max’s behavior.
“Maybe it’s just an animal,” he offered, though the doubt was clear in his voice. Still, Max kept growling into the night, barking at shadows they couldn’t see.
John became more determined than ever to uncover what Max already knew.
