Cry Baby Doll

Cry Baby looked like a typical baby doll at first glance—but it screamed. Loudly. When activated, the doll would let out shrill, piercing cries that often went on for minutes. Instead of nurturing instincts, it triggered panic and headaches. Many children found the sound disturbing, especially when the doll went off in the middle of the night without warning.

Parents quickly grew tired of the incessant wailing, with some even reporting their kids were terrified of the toy. While it was intended to simulate real baby care, Cry Baby felt more like an instrument of sleep deprivation. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t last long on the shelves—and now it haunts thrift stores everywhere.
